ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) is a training program designed to prepare individuals for responding to an active shooter situation. It was developed by a former police officer named Greg Crane in the aftermath of the Columbine High School massacre in 1999. The program emphasizes proactive responses rather than traditional lockdown-only approaches.
